WEYMOUTH, MA — A teen faces charges related to a crash that killed a 15-year-old classmate.
John Crowley, 17, of Weymouth was arraigned in Quincy District Court Friday and charged with manslaughter and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Weymouth resident and Archbishop Williams student Kate McCarthy.
On April 9, McCarthy died after being thrown from an SUV that Crowley allegedly drove off the road. The driver of the SUV originally faced misdemeanor charges but a grand jury handed down a manslaughter indictment last month, the Patriot Ledger reported.
