BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree's licensing board on Tuesday suspended the liquor license of TGI Friday's for one day after finding the restaurant served a drunk off-duty worker.

TGI Friday's, located at 60 Forbes Road, will serve the penalty on March 28 unless the restaurant appeals the decision to the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, the Patriot Ledger reported.

Police said the incident happened on Dec. 6, 2021, and they received a report of a woman rolling on the ground in the parking lot. The woman, a server at the restaurant, was taken to South Shore Hospital for treatment, according to police. During Tuesday's hearing, it was discovered the woman had two or three cocktails and two tequila shots before the bartender cut her off. Manager Steven Cooke said employees are not allowed to drink at the restaurant at any time, and he told the board he held a meeting with employees to reinforce the company policy.
