Thayer To Face Off Against Andover On High School Quiz Show

BRAINTREE, MA — Thayer Acadmey's quiz team advances to the quarterfinals of High School Quiz Show's 10th anniversary season, squaring off against the defending champions, Andover High School on Saturday, April 6 at 6 p.m. on WGBH 2. Thayer earned the spot in the qualifying round after defeating Seekonk High School 495-355 this past Februrary.

Thayer also made it to the quarterfinals last year, but hopes to go farther by keeping the momentum moving in the next round. Their first round opponent from last year, Hingham High School, is also still alive, defeating Amesbury High School 440-260 last month. In 2018, Thayer defeated Hingham 455 to 365 in the first round before losing to Brookline.

The season will culminate with an Interstate Invitational, featuring WGBH's High School Quiz Show state champions competing against New Hampshire PBS' Granite State Challenge state champions, the High School Quiz Show: Rhode Island state champions and the High School Quiz Show: Maine state champions for the final title, according to a release.
