Thirty Apply for Assistant Superintendent Opening
A committee of 14 will review the applivants.

BRAINTREE, MA — About 30 applicants are hoping to be the next assistant superintendent of the Braintree Public Schools.
Superintendent Frank Hackett announced at Monday’s school committee meeting that a committee of 14 will review the applications and proceed with interviews next week. The committee is made up of parents, teachers, and administrators.
“I feel good about the pool we have. I think we got some high-quality candidates,” Hackett said.

The committee will choose who will interview in front of the school committee, which has final say over who gets the position.
Jennifer Fay-Beers, the current assistant superintendent, is stepping down from the position to become the district’s director of personnel and student services. She starts her new job July 1.

In other central office news, the assistant financial manager opening is down to two candidates and the search for a human resources manager is nearing the end, Hackett said.
