Town Council Pass Change in Soliciting Ordinance
The vote came at their meeting this week.

BRAINTREE, MA - A change is coming to the town ordinance for door-to-door solicitors.
Tuesday, the town council approved a revision that will require the size of the identification card to be worn by solicitors according to the Patriot Ledger. Those going door-to-door must wear a five inch by seven inch card with their photo, name, employer, supervisor’s name and phone number. They also must carry paperwork that shows that they're registered with the police department.
The initial set of rules were approved in September. All workers affected by the ordinance are responsible for paying a $75 fee for the background check. Level 2 and 3 sex offenders, or those convicted of assault, burglary, larceny, robbery, drug distribution receiving stolen property, or unlawfully carry a weapon are barred from soliciting in town.
