Toy Drives Scheduled to Benefit Braintree Families
An effort is underway to collect more than 2,000 toys for the Marge Crispin Social Services Center with donations still needed.

From Braintree Town Council President Sean Powers:
Town wide toy drives are underway to collect the more than 2,000 toys to benefit the Marge Crispin Social Services Center which assist Braintree families in need every year at the holiday season.
The 8th Annual Braintree Christmas Party will be held on Thursday, December 7th starting at 6 PM at the Granite Grille, 703 Granite St, Braintree, MA. Admission is a new unwrapped toy for boys or girls from 3 to 12 years old. Gift cards to area stores are also needed for older children ages 13 and up in denominations of five and ten dollars. Appetizers and cash bar will be available with holiday music provided by Pat Lally of South Shore Entertainment.

Another opportunity to donate will take place on Saturday, December 2nd from 10 AM to 2 PM. The Braintree Police will be partnering with Brewster Ambulance for the 2nd Annual “Fill-A-Cruiser with Toys” toy drive at Braintree Town Hall, 1 JFK Memorial Drive. All toys and gift cards donated will be brought to the Christmas Party and put on display. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be provided courtesy of Montilio’s Bakery. Every person that donates a toy or gift card will receive a special thank you card and invitation to the 8th Annual Braintree Christmas Party.
The demand for toys is great this year with many requests being made of the program. The annual Christmas party was started eight years ago as a way to celebrate the holidays while also being a part of the Christmas giving season. This might be the only chance a family has at giving their children something for Christmas and the volunteers of the party hope people come out to support this important annual event.

The committee is also extremely grateful to the Granite Grille and staff for the generous donation of the venue and food for the party.
“We look forward to this event every year as a way to come together and give something back to those in need during the holidays” said Chuck Kokoros.
“The community has always come through in a very big and generous way and we know that they will again support these toy drive efforts” added Sean Powers.
