Two Braintree Wamps Named To Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team

BRAINTREE, MA — Two Braintree student-athletes are among the best in the area when it comes to their sports.

Swimmer Sean McGurn and golfer Kyle Mahoney were recently named to the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team. The award is given to the area's best high school athletes at the end of each season.

McGurn, a senior captain, broke the Division 1 meet record in the 500 freestyle and the sectional meet record in the 100 breaststroke. He was also a member of the state champion 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.

On the links, Mahoney finished seventh at the Division 1 South sectional tournament and ninth at the state final.
