Two Chosen as Braintree Superintendent Finalists
The school committee will conduct public interviews with the finalists on June 30 at Braintree High School.

Two current superintendents have been named finalists for the same position in Braintree.
On June 30, the Braintree School Committee will interview two finalists for the superintendent position. Up for the schools district’s top spot will be Steve Bliss from Dover-Sherborn and Frank Hackett from Pembroke.
“I am thankful for the work done by the Superintendent Search Committee over the past few months, both with Braintree’s initial search and with their recent reconvening. Through this diligence, they have now forwarded two strong finalists for consideration by the full School Committee. I look forward to public interviews with Mr. Bliss and Mr. Hackett, in the hopes of identifying the possible future leader of the Braintree Public Schools,” School Committee Chairman David Ringius said in a statement.

Bliss has been the superintendent of the Dover-Sherborn Public Schools since 2013, previously serving as their assistant superintendent. Hackett was selected as the Pembroke superintendent in 2007.
This will the second attempt to fill the vacancy to be left by current superintendent Maureen Murray. In April, the school committee voted to end and later restart the search after the finalists were deemed to be not a right fit for Braintree.
