Unemployment Continues to Drop in Braintree

Like the state as a whole, the jobless rate decreased in Braintree during April.

According to statistics from the state’s Office of Labor and Workforce Development, the unemployment rate for the town decreased from 4.3 percent in March to 3.6 percent in April.

In April 2014, the unemployment rate in Braintree was 5.1 percent.

Statewide, the unemployment rate decreased from 5 percent to 4.1 percent, below the national rate of 5.4 percent. Of the roughly 3.6 million residents that make up the state’s labor force, over 3.45 million are employed while 148,600 are unemployed.
