Water Main Break On Rt. 37 Repaired

Just after 1 p.m., a water main break was reported in Route 37 in Braintree, near the Peach Street intersection.

BRAINTREE, MA — A broken water main was repaired Tuesday night, Mayor Joseph Sullivan said.

Just after 1 p.m., a water main break was reported on Route 37 in Braintree, near the Peach Street intersection. DPW crews were able to find the leak around 5:40 p.m. and complete work around 7 p.m.

Sullivan, who went to the site in the afternoon, said the work was difficult during a very cold day.

Residents were told that water to some homes may be off for three to four hours.

Braintree isn't expected to get much of a break from the weather this week. A snowstorm is expected to bring 8-12 inches of snow to Braintree Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
