Wetland Issues Linger For Petersen Pool

BRAINTREE, MA — The final touches are being placed on the Petersen Pool project.
Scott Lacy, an attorney for the project, was in front of the conservation commission Thursday to seek approval for some wetland issues. Approvals from the commission and appeals board are still needed. The planning board recently approved the site plan.

Projected to cost $19 million and feature an indoor swimming pool and two hockey rinks, the ambitious public-private partnership will be located at Braintree High School, next to the track and field and parking lot. The building size is 87,000 square feet, but was originally 157,000 square feet and included an indoor turf field.
The commission continued their hearing to March 1. Construction is expected to start this summer.
