Which Presidential Candidates Are Braintree Residents Backing?

Braintree residents have donated most to Joe Biden —​​ thanks to two specific donors — but President Donald Trump has the most donations.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree didn't vote for President Trump in the 2016 election, but so far, he has more individual donations from residents than any other presidential candidate. Former Vice President Joe Biden has raised the most money from Braintree, but most of it came from two donations, according to Federal Election Commission data.

Trump received 46 donations for $2,273.64, a total made up of donations averaging about $49.43. The biggest donor to the Trump campaign was James Cashman, the owner of Cashman Equipment Corp.

Biden received 21 donations for $5,440. His biggest Braintree donors were $2,800 from Stephen Marcus, of the law firm Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, PC, and $1,000 from Francis Shea Jr., of the state and local government consulting group Bay State Strategies.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders had the second most donations in Braintree with 30 for $1,184. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren had eight donations for $789.04.
