Witness Report Helps Braintree Police Make Drunken Driving Arrest

A Quincy man was arrested early Saturday morning, thanks a report from a witness.
Paul Bangs, 46, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and operating with a revoked license, according to Police Chief Russ Jenkins.
Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday morning, officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Washington Street. As they arrived they observed a vehicle that had several flat tires and damage to the front end.

A male party at the scene, who was later identified as Bangs, told police that a friend fled before they arrived. A witness called the police station and identified the person the officers were talking to as the person they witnessed operating the vehicle.
As officers spoke to Bangs they made observations that led them to believe he was impaired before taking him into custody.
