2 Charged With Selling Fentanyl Near Brockton School: Report

Police said the suspects were selling fentanyl out of a house only 300 feet away from Brookfield Elemenary School.

BROCKTON, MA — A man and woman were arrested after selling fentanyl out of a house, located only 300 feet away from Brookfield Elementary School, according to police. After a month-long investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a house on Jon Drive, just before 6:30 a.m., Thursday, police told the Brockton Enterprise.

Police said they seized 4.4 grams of fentanyl, along with drug packaging materials, three digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and a cellphone. The suspects, Alem Abay, 32, and Isis Cartagena, 40, were home during the raid, arrested, and charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.
