BROCKTON, MA — Two people were arrested after police said they seized more than 45 grams of fentanyl. Carlos Vincente 46, of Brockton, and Emily Allen, 23, of Plympton, were charged with trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl, conspiracy to violate drug laws and possession with intent to distribute a class B substance.

Around 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, undercover officers pulled over a Ford Explorer at a gas station on Warren Avenue. Police said the driver, Vincente, never got out of the car to get gas, and a known drug user was seen walking away from the SUV. The traffic stop happened after Vincente failed to signal when turning onto the street and because the SUV had a license plate that came up canceled to a Honda, according to police.

Police searched the vehicle and found a bag of fentanyl, on the passenger side floor. Officers asked the passenger, Allen, to get out of the car, and police found more bags of fentanyl on Allen's seat and in the center console. Police said 30.5 grams of the drug were seized, but another 14 grams were found after police searched Allen as well as a digital scale in her purse.
