Ambulance Driver Cited In Crash That Injured 2 In Brockton

The ambulance failed to grant the right of way​ to the SUV when it turned left into CVS's parking lot, according to police.

BROCKTON, MA — An ambulance driver was cited following a Wednesday morning crash that sent two people to the hospital.

Around 5:45 a.m., police and firefighters were called to North Pearl Street near CVS because of a collision beteen a SUV and an EasCare ambulance. The SUV had severe front end damage and, while the ambulance ended up with a large dent on its side.

According to the Brockton Enterprise, one person was taken to Brockton Hospital, while the other was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center. The SUV's 62-year-old driver was among the two injured, according to WHDH. The driver's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, according to police. It wasn't immediately clear which vehicle the other injured person was in or the extent of their injuries.

Police told WHDH a preliminary investigation showed the ambulance failed to grant the right of way to the SUV when the ambulance was turning left into CVS's parking lot. The driver's identity has not been released.
