Brockton Advanced Water Reclamation Facility Update

BROCKTON, MA — Construction of upgrades and improvements to the Brockton Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF), 303 Oak Hill Way, Brockton, were financed by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). The CWSRF program is administered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) with joint funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Massachusetts Clean Water Trust.

This project includes modifying the AWRF's aeration basins and making other improvements as necessary for the city to comply with its NPDES permit. The improvements will allow the city to achieve an effluent total nitrogen (TN) of 450 pounds per day seasonally, thus providing water quality benefits for the City of Brockton, Salisbury Plain River, and the Taunton River Watershed.

The CWSRF programs operate around the country to provide states and communities the resources necessary to maintain and improve the infrastructure that protects our valuable water resources nationwide.
