Kawana Tillman, 48, pleaded guilty to possession of a semi-automatic handgun and possession with intent to distribute a cocaine-base drug.

BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man was sentenced to five years in federal prison Thursday after pleading guilty to possession of a semi-automatic handgun as a felon and possession with intent to distribute a cocaine-based drug. U.S. Senior District Court Judge Rya W. Zobel handed down the sentence of five years in prison with four years of supervised released following Tillman's November guilty plea to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, one count of possession with intent to distribute a cocaine-based drug and one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 28 grams of a cocaine-based drug.

FBI Boston said that on March 10, 2018 Tillman was found in illegal possession of a Glock, 9mm semi-automatic handgun with three rounds of ammunition. Because of Tillman's prior felony conviction, he is prohibited from possession firearms and ammunition. FBI Boston said that on March 19, 2018 and April 30, 2019 Tillman was found in possession of the cocaine-based drug.
