Brockton Men Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges: State Police

RANDOLPH, MA — Two men from Brockton were arrested on gun and drug charges after state police assisted them on Route 24 in Randolph after a vehicle ran out of gas. At 11 p.m. Wednesday, a state trooper on patrol on the southbound side of the highway saw two vehicles in the breakdown lane. One of the vehicles, according to the men at the scene, ran out of gas.

During a brief investigation, the state trooper accused two men, Luis Lopez and Adieu Charles, both 22 and both from Brockton, of being in possession of illegal firearms, cocaine, and pills.

One handgun, a Springfield Armory XD .40 caliber pistol, was loaded with a high capacity 20 round cartridge. The second was a loaded Raven Arms .25 caliber pistol.

Lopez and Charles were arrested and both charged with numerous felony charges including improper storage of a firearm, possession of a large capacity weapon or feeding device, possession or carrying a firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, receiving stolen property, possession of a Class B drug-cocaine, and possession of a Class E drug-unknown pills.

Both men were held on cash bail and arraigned in Quincy District Court Thursday.
