Brockton Recreational Marijuana Zoning Expected Soon

Following city council approval, Brockton applicants can obtain licenses from the state's Cannabis Control Commission.

BROCKTON, MA — City officials are expected to approve a zoning proposal on Tuesday night for recreational marijuana dispensaries.

The vote is expected to take place at a City Council Ordinance Committee meeting scheduled for Dec. 18. The zoning proposal is expected to allow for two retail locations in the downtown business district and four stores in C-2 commerical zones or industrial zones, City Councilor At-large Winthrop Farwell told the Brockton Enterprise. Two medical marijuana facilities on West Chestnut Street are expected to get approval for recreational sales, he said.

According to Farwell, the city council is on pace to have zoning and licensing completed by late January, the Brockton Enterprise reported. Following city council approval, Brockton applicants can obtain licenses from the state’s Cannabis Control Commission.
