Investigation into Boy Who Was Shot Leads to Arrests

The three men are not being charged in connection to the shooting but they face other charges.

BROCKTON, MA — Three people have been arrested thanks to an investigation into a shooting that led to a 3-year-old getting struck by a bullet.

On Nov. 6, a boy was shot in the leg after a bullet entered the home he was in. About 10 spent slugs and shell casings have been found on the ground.

Early Friday morning, police executed a warrant on Newton Street and arrested three men. Neil King, 41, Attleboro, Tere Watson, 21, of Charlton and Jerry Chery, 26, of Brockton, were taken into custody, according to the Enterprise. King was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and illegal possession of ammunition, Watson was charged with illegal possession of ammunition and on two warrants, and Chery was arrested on a warrant.

The three are not being charged in the shooting, but police found drugs, ammunition, digital scales, cash, and cell phones.

The boy who was shot was treated at the hospital and survived.
