Man Charged in Brockton Carjacking Indicted
Investigators say Jose Robles carjacked a woman at the Westgate Mall before crashing the stolen vehicle in Stoughton.

BROCKTON, MA - A Taunton man who allegedly carjacked a woman in Brockton before crashing the car in Stoughton has been indicted on charges stemming from the incident.
Jose Robles, 33, was indicted Monday by a Plymouth County Grand Jury on the charges of armed carjacking, armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.

On Feb. 16 shortly before noon, police in Brockton received a report of an armed carjacking at the mall. While the victim was putting her infant child into a car seat, Robles demanded the car keys from her while aiming a gun at her.
A trooper located the vehicle and the suspect on Arch Street in Brockton before a pursuit of the vehicle was authorized and continued into Stoughton.

The suspect crashed his car on Boylston Street and fled on foot. About 30 seconds later, Robles was taken into custody
Robles has since been held without bail. He will be arraigned in court on the charges.
