Mascon Medical To Donate Infection Control Items To Brockton

Mascon Medical of Woburn will deliver over 240,000 pieces of personal protective equipment to the City of Brockton on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

BROCKTON, MA—Mascon Medical in Woburn will donate 242,283 infection control items to the City of Brockton on Tuesday to help the city's fight against COVID-19.

Brockton Mayor Robert F. Sullivan will receive the donation from Mascon Medical Global President and CEO John R. Chen at the 156 West Elm St. War Memorial Building on Dec. 15 at 10:00 a.m.

"Mason Medical recognizes the challenges for many communities to meet the PPE and infection control needs of their citizens and wants to help those communities in any way possible," said a press release from For Boston Communications. "Since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic breakout, Mason Medical has dedicated its operations to help unprepared communities, hospitals, testing labs, and private organizations fight the spread of the deadly global virus."

The donation includes masks, gowns, face shields, sanitizing wipes, electrostatic sprayers, and many other personal protective equipment items to be distributed to hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes, schools, public housing complexes, and other locations based on need.

"From the onset, Mascon has been committed to helping address the supply issues surrounding personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control products in Massachusetts, especially communities hit hardest by the pandemic," said the press release. "With the holiday season underway in the Commonwealth, Mascon is providing critical support to public health providers, hospitals, schools, and area non-profits."

Brockton has sustained its status as one of the Massachusetts communities hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city has experienced a total of 6,990 coronavirus cases, with 772 reported in the two weeks leading up to Dec. 1o, according to the latest data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Brockton currently has an average daily incidence rate of 55.57 and a positivity rate of 8.36%.
