State Police trooper cited in Brockton crash that caused injuries (nbcboston.com) — A Massachusetts State Police cruiser and another car collided on Belmont Street in Brockton on Aug. 10, injuring the trooper and two people in the other vehicle and briefly shutting down the road. Investigators say preliminary findings led to the trooper being cited for negligent operation and speeding, while the Bristol County district attorney's office continues its review. Authorities have not released updated conditions for those hurt. 
2. Jackals Finish Off Sixth Sweep (wpubeacon.com) — Brockton baseball fans saw the Rox drop a 7–2 road game as the New Jersey Jackals completed their sixth series sweep Thursday night. Brockton briefly tied it in the fourth inning, but a big Jackals rally in the bottom half put the game out of reach heading into a crucial weekend series for New Jersey.

U.S. Marshals from Massachusetts, Alaska, arrest man for allegedly having s*x with a child in Bristol County (fallriverreporter.com) — Brockton Police are among the many Massachusetts agencies on a U.S. Marshals fugitive task force that helped track down a man accused of child sex crimes in Bristol County. Marshals say the suspect was arrested in Alaska and will be returned to Massachusetts, emphasizing that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
4.
