South Boston Man Indicted In Fatal Brockton Stabbing
Cody Urban is charged with stabbing Samuel Rutledge five times outside a Brockton gas station.

BROCKTON, MA — A South Boston has been indicted in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place in Brockton last year, said Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz in a news release.
Cody Urban, 24, was indicted Monday by a Plymouth County grand jury on one count of murder, said Cruz.
Urban is ahargedwith stabbing Samuel Rutledge, 31, five times outside a Brockton gas station on August 23, 2020. The two men were allegedly involved in an altercation before the incident.

Prosecutors say Urban fled the scene after the stabbing and an acquaintance drove Rutledge to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Urban, said Cruz. He was taken into custody on August 27.
