State Police Make Cocaine Bust In Brockton

BROCKTON, MA — A Boston man was charged with cocaine trafficking and possession with intent to sell a Class B substances after State Police said they found 63 grams of what was believed to be crack cocaine and five pills believed to be Oxycodone during a traffic stop in Brockton on Saturday. State Police said Takari Elliott, 27, was charged after the drugs were found in the waistline of his pants.

Police said they were on patrol in Brockton about 9 p.m. Saturday night when they pulled over a gray Nissan Murano for speeding on Ash Street. Police said while questioning the occupants of the car they saw items consistent with illegal drug activity.

While talking to the female driver, troopers said they saw noticed a male passenger lean forward and quickly return to an upright position. Troopers began questioning Elliottt and said they subsequently located the drugs in the waistline of his pants along with $3,700 in cash.

Elliott was arrested and taken to the Middleboro Barracks for booking. The driver was issued a ticket and allowed to drive away. Bail for Elliott was set at $25,000 and he was taken to Plymouth County House of Correction where he was held until his arraignment at Brockton District Court on Tuesday.
