150 Health Professionals Endorse Natalia Linos for Congress
Citing her expertise in public health and COVID-19 plan, an unprecedented number of health professionals back Dr. Natalia Linos for Congress
BROOKLINE, MA -- While U.S. coronavirus cases surge, over 150 health care professionals endorse Dr. Natalia Linos to represent Massachusetts’ District 4 in Congress, building on significant momentum for her candidacy. As the federal government continues to fail in its COVID-19 response, discrediting scientists and devaluing front-line workers, health professionals are uniting in their support for Dr. Linos’ platform for science-based leadership.
Endorsements include Dr. Dolores Acevedo-Garcia, Director of the Institute for Child, Youth and Family Policy at Brandeis University; Dr. Jason Harris, Pediatric infectious disease physician and Chief, Pediatric Global Health, Massachusetts General Hospital; Dr. Iraklis Gerogiannis, Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Southcoast Health; Dr. Mary T. Bassett, Harvard Professor and Former New York City Health Commissioner; and Dr. Nancy Street, Co-Director at Global Nursing Caucus.
“I am honored and humbled by the support of so many front-line health care workers, infectious disease experts, and public health leaders who have been working tirelessly to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Dr. Linos said in a statement. “They deserve a Congress that values and respects their service.”
The endorsements come after several eventful weeks for the campaign, including the launch of a comprehensive COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plan and the release of three new progressive policies in education and child care, criminal legal system reform, and LGBTQ+ rights. All endorsements were made in a personal capacity.
