Who Were Brookline's Fastest Runners in the Boston Marathon?

One Brookline woman made the top 100 women and one local man made the top men to run the 2017 Boston Marathon.

Among the more than 27,000 runners from all over the world who took to the Boston Marathon course yesterday were a number of Brookline residents. And some speedy ones at that. Ian Nurse was the fastest Brookline man to run the Marathon coming in 91 out of 14,438 men who finished the 2017 Boston Marathon.

Nurse's time? 2:35:41. He came in 103 overall in the Marathon. For perspective, Geoffrey Kirui, of Kenya won the Boston Marathon for the men's division, did so by running it in 2:09:37. That's a 27 minute difference, people. If you know Nurse or see him around Brookline, he might deserve a high five.

Then there's Laura Paulsen, 28, out of the 11,973 women to finish the race (some people don't even make it the entire route) she ran it in 2:56:26, coming in 58th for women. She placed 1,030 over all. ( Remember:That's out of 26,411 runners who finished). Paulsen basically ran 26.2 miles at a 06:44 per mile pace. Edna Kiplagat of Kenya won the women's division by crossing the finish line in 2:21:52 just about 35 minutes before Paulsen.
