Brookline Country Club Members Only Jacket Sells For $240.
It's a rare thing to find at an auction, according to the auctioneer.

BROOKLINE, MA — An official Country Club member's jacket appeared to be up for auction recently in an online auction that was taking bids last month for the apparently rare find. In the decade the auction site has been around, it's never had a Brookline Country Club members jacket.
"We get member’s jackets from time to time from many different clubs however this is the first we’ve ever gotten from TCC," said co-owner of the auction site Bob Zafian.
The Country Club at Brookline has been the site of some of the most famous golf tournaments in history, including Francis Ouimet's 1913 US Open victory, and the Americans' dramatic comeback at the 1999 Ryder Cup.

"Memorabilia from The Country Club is extremely hard to find, as the club is immensely private," read the description of the auction. "Offered here is perhaps the finest piece of memorabilia from The Country Club that we will ever find - an official member's jacket."
Contains The Country Club crest and squirrel log on the breast, as well as squirrel logo buttons, according to the post. The jacket was reportedly made by Arthur Johnson of Boston. The one up for auction was approximately size 44 or 44L.

The starting bid was $200. And the jacket sold for $240, according to Zafian. "Surprisingly low. Thought it would sell for over $500," he told Patch in an email.
Green Jacket Auctions, the online auctioneer, was formed in early 2006 by Zafian and fellow golf collector Ryan Carey because of the difficulty in buying and selling quality, rare golf memorabilia in the United States. At a time when auction houses were routinely setting record prices for sports memorabilia, golf memorabilia had been left to the wayside, reads the website.
