Brookline Course Seeks To Broaden Reach Beyond Golf Season
The Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course is looking to offer year-round benefits to more than just golfers.
BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline is looking to broaden the appeal of its municipal golf course beyond just the summer club-swinging season.
The Recreation Department said its winter outreach campaign for the Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course is designed to engage a wider spectrum of town residents both in and outside of the golf season.
"Our goal is to let Brookline residents know that the golf course is a wonderful year-round resource for the community," said General Manager Justin Lawson. "While our core is golf, our mission is community, and we are committed to providing recreational opportunities beyond golf.

"We hope to see increased usage of the property throughout all seasons, including trail use, dog walking, snow sports, golf, birding, and the enjoyment of the Hemlock Grill."
The Brookline Recreation Department conducted a direct mail campaign to residents near the golf about programs at the course, which could include cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during the winter with rentals available in the pro shop for people who want to try out the activities on the course's 7-kilometer layout of flats and gentle hills.The Hemlock Grill is open during the winter season from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
