Brookline to Host Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Next Friday, the Wayside Youth and Family Support Network is sponsoring free training at the Brookline DPH.

BROOKLINE, MA – The Brookline Department of Public Health is hosting first aid training for youths experiencing a mental health of substance abuse problem.

The August 26 training is open to anyone 18 years or older and free for people who live or work in Brookline, Belmont, Waltham and Watertown.

Sponsored by the Wayland Youth and Family Support Network, the session will assist participants in devising a plan of action when responding to a young person in crisis.

Though the training is open to everyone, it is recommended for those who regularly interact with 12- to 18-year-olds, such as teachers, coaches, social workers and faith leaders.

The session runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. next Friday, August 26 at the Brookline Department of Health; participants must attend the full day of training, and lunch and snacks will be provided.
