Brookline Kids Hone Soccer Skills With Revolution Stars

Brookline, MA – Brookline youngsters Emi Alvarez and Ryder Feilke joined New England Revolution players Charlie Davies, Darrius Barnes, Gershon Koffie and Matt Turner to usher in the Santander Soccer Scholars program at the Charles River Esplanade.

Alvarez and Feilke were among 300 kids who participated in the event at Teddy Ebersol Field, where the players and New England Revolution Academy coaches led a soccer clinic, posed for pictures, signed autographs and challenged kids to games of FIFA on Xbox.

Attendees were also invited to enter the Santander Soccer Scholars sweepstakes, a season-long contest where adults nominate new England students ages six through 17 for a chance to win $500 toward their education and a VIP experience at a Revolution home match.

As part of the VIP experience, each Soccer Scholar will receive four tickets to the match and be given the opportunity to stand on the sidelines as the Revolution take the field. Students will also get the chance to take a picture with Revolution forward Charlie Davies, the Soccer Scholar spokesperson.

The Soccer Scholars program recognizes students who excel in the classroom as well as on the field.

A grand prize Soccer Scholars winner will be awarded the opportunity for Davies to visit his or her school. 

Santander, the Official Bank of the New England Revolution, launched its third annual Soccer Scholars program on June 13.
