Memorial Day Events In Brookline: What To Know

Parking will be free Monday, May 28.

BROOKLINE, MA — Memorial Day is the last Monday of the month of may and is set aside to honor those who lost their lives in service to their country. It was once a day to decorate veterans, but got a name switch in the 1970s.

The day is commemorated around the country with ceremonies at memorials and cemeteries to parades and marches and festivals to remember the sacrifices made by those who died while in the military.

Brookline has a few things up its sleeve, including a bit of a procession involving Police and Fire.
