Brookline Names Justin Casanova-Davis Acting Finance Director
Casanova-Davis began his new position on Monday, August 16.

BROKLINE, MA — Brookline has named Justin Casanova-Davis as the town's new Acting Finance Director, filling the vacancy by the resignation of Jeana Franconi.
Casanova-Davis, who started his new role on August 16, joined the town of Brookline in 2018 as Assistant Town Administrator. In that role, he has been responsible for implementing and integrating new OpenGov budget software, overseeing the allocation of federal CARES Act funding, working to support goal-setting by the Select Board and other departments, preparing the town's annual report, and serving as a liaison to the Financial Advisory Committee.
“Justin has been an important part of not only the town’s response to and recovery from COVID-19, but also the extensive planning and analysis that goes into developing our budget year after year,” said Town Administrator Mel Kleckner in a statement. “He’s an excellent person to steward our Finance Department through this period of transition, and I look forward to his continued success supporting the town.”

Prior to his time in Brookline, Casanova-Davis worked as the Principal Budget Analyst for the City of Cambridge and a Budget Analyst for the House Committee on Ways and Means at the State House.He was also recognized with the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)’s Goldberg-Miller Public Finance Award in 2021 and was one of 12 participants chosen to lead the MassTown Careers initiative.
Casanova-Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston College, a graduate certificate in local government, leadership and management from Suffolk University, and is working on a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk..
