Brookline Recreation Announces New Ski And Snowshoe Program
The program's offerings will include a Nordic ski program and a snowshoe program.

BROOKLINE, MA — Snow lovers just might have a new haven at the Robert T. Lynch Golf Course, which announced the addition of a snow sports program through a Brookline Recreation news release Thursday.
The program's offerings will include a Nordic ski program and a snowshoe program complete with groomed trails on which community members will be able to take ski lessons and attend snowshoe outings, the recreation department said.
The program will feature snowshoe rentals, as well as rental equipment for cross-country skiing from Rossignol, including skis, boots, and poles, which will be available at the Golf Shop, according to the department. Users can register in advance to ensure they are able to obtain equipment, otherwise it will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.

"We are thrilled to be offering this fun way for residents to spend time enjoying nature during the colder winter months," Brookline Recreation Director Leigh Jackson wrote in the news release. "We encourage all interested community members to join us on the trails in the coming weeks as we kick off this new and exciting program."
Operations are expected to begin after the next snowfall of six inches or more, Brookline Recreation announced.

During the first few days of operations, community members will not be charged trail fees as recreation staff learn how to groom trails for snow sports, the department added. Later, users will be required to buy daily or seasonal trail passes at the Golf Shop.
