Staff Pick: 'Brand New Day': it's an Aboriginal-heartland-meets-Bollywood musical dramedy. The music is good, characters charming, the Wedstern Australian landscape rugged and beautiful. It's got the comic-strip qualities of Bollywood, not much room for subtlety in the storytelling. The story follows a young man's quest for love and fulfillment. But it's got enough flavor to make it worthwhile. Alongside a largely aboriginal cast, Geoffrey Rush plays a wayward priest with a secret.
