Cops Make Crystal Meth Arrest in Brookline Village

Brookline police last week charged an Andover man with crystal methamphetamine possession in Brookline village.

Ricardo Zaragoza, 36, was arrested Tue., Sept. 23.

Police said at about 2 p.m., an officer was patrolling Brookline Village due to recent package thefts and house break-ins. The officer said he saw Zaragoza squatting between two parked vehicles on Linden Street. He appeared nervous when he saw the officer, according to a police report.

When the officer asked Zaragoza what he was doing, he said he was meeting a friend, but he didn’t know the friend’s last name, according to the report.

The officer gained consent to search Zaragoza’s backpack and found a plastic bag with “POP CULTURE” written on it, according to the report. The officer said he found crystal meth inside the bag.
