CVS, Wegmans: New Year’s 2021 Grocery Store Hours In Brookline

BROOKLINE, MA — New Year’s Day is fast approaching as Brookline residents prepare to say goodbye to yet another year dominated by the coronavirus pandemic.

While a surge in cases spurred by the fast-spreading omicron variant may cause some to rethink their New Year’s plans, others still may choose to go the extra mile to say goodbye to 2021 and ring in what they hope will be a better year to come.

While New Year’s Day typically doesn’t carry the culinary fanfare boasted by Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s a perfect excuse to host a festive brunch with your vaccinated friends or throw together a tasty New Year’s Day lunch for your family.

If you forgot the key ingredient for your famous quiche or simply need extra orange juice for mimosas, most grocery stores in Brookline will be open for the food and drinks you may have forgotten.

CVS: Many locations, including those open 24 hours, will be open regular hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Some pharmacies may have reduced hours. Customers are encouraged to call ahead to confirm hours at their preferred locations.

Shaw’s and Star Market: Stores will be open but will close at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

1717 Beacon Street, Brookline

Stop & Shop: Stores will be open regular hours.

155 Harvard Street, Brookline

Target: Stores will be open regular hours.

860 Comm Ave, Boston

Trader Joe’s: All stores will close at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Stores will be closed on New Year’s Day.

1317 Beacon Street, Brookline

Walgreens: Walgreens stores will be open during regular business hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Twenty-four-hour Walgreens locations and 24-hour pharmacies will remain open.

99 Harvard Street, Brookline

Wegmans: Stores will close at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and reopen at 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Wegmans’ Brooklyn location will reopen at 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

200 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill

Whole Foods: Stores will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, but hours will vary by location. Call ahead to your preferred store to confirm hours.
