How Was Hops and Scotch's Opening Week?

Hops and Scotch opened last week. A week on, owner Darren Tow chatted with Boston Eater about opening, feasting and air conditioning.

Owner Darren Tow sat down with Boston Eater, a blog focusing on night life and food, and talked with them about their first week in town

Tow told Eater, "We’re happy! We were surprised that there was such interest; we were pretty busy the first day we opened. Pretty exciting to see that maybe we did something right."

He also described some technical difficulties with the air conditioning, which Tow said had been working fine until opening day. Technicians were able to get the unit working at half capacity.

The restaurant focuses on craft beer and scotch offerings, as well as comfort foods in a warm, family-friendly space. The restaurant opened in , which shuttered around the New Year. 

Construction on the site began after Tow and his co-owner David Ng got approval. The two also own the nearby , which Ng will continue to run.
