The following is an excerpt from the Brookline police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Brookline police on Sunday said they arrested a drug dealer after he stole a bait bicycle.

Police said they deploy the GPS-equipped bicycle from time to time in high-crime areas. On Sunday, it was placed on St. Paul Street. At about 2:30 p.m., dispatchers received a signal that the bike was on the move. Officers found the bicycle in a sport utility vehicle at Pierce playground. Three people were in or around the vehicle, including Christopher Fermin, 18, of Dorchester.

Police said they found marijuana packaged for sale inside Fermin’s backpack. He was charged with larceny and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in a school zone. The two other individuals were also charged with larceny. Police did not release their names.
