MA-04 Candidate Natalia Linos Releases New Policies

Dr. Natalia Linos Releases New Policies on Education & Child Care, Criminal Legal Reform, and LGBTQ+ Rights

BROOKLINE, MA -- Today, Dr. Natalia Linos, epidemiologist and candidate for Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional District, released three bold new policy positions. These plans come after her release last week of the most comprehensive COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plan proposed by any candidate in the race. Now, Linos is outlining progressive and detailed stances on education and child care, the criminal legal system, and LGBTQ+ rights. These policy positions complement her foundational priorities of Healthy Communities, Healthy Planet, and Shared Prosperity.

Linos’ new policy positions at a glance:

Education and Child Care: Linos’ plan details her support for increased investments in public education and teachers, as well as support for the safe reopening of schools in the fall to prevent the education gap from widening and lessen the burden on parents and families.

Reforming the Criminal Legal System: Linos’ criminal legal reform plan calls for reallocating funds from police departments to support social and mental health services. She will also advocate for a national registry of police-involved killings, ending qualified immunity, pre-trial and sentencing reforms, and decarceration efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 in jails and prisons.

Support for LGBTQ+ Rights and Protections: If elected, Linos would hold the Trump administration accountable for violating numerous legal and civil statutes protecting LGBTQ+ persons and advance legislation to expand protections and services across the United States.
