BROOKLINE, MA — It appears Brookline students met or exceeded expectations on the MCAS more than the rest of the state on Math, English Language Arts and Science at Brookline Public Schools, according to data the state just released.
The Brookline Superintendent's office officials said they plan to present on the results at a School Committee meeting later this fall, as they do every year.
The next-generation MCAS scores given in grades 3-8 are only in their second year, and officials have warned against rushing to judgement as they establish a baseline. Students in grade 10 took the "legacy" tests, which are in their final year. Read more about legacy and next-generation tests here.

And 52 schools were recognized for high achievement, high growth or significantly exceeding their targets. See the schools that garnered recognition here.
