New Food Standards For Restaurants: Brookline Health Dept.
The Brookline Health Department announces upcoming training workshops of the new food code standards for restaurant owners and operators.

BROOKLINE, MA - From Brookline Department of Public Health: Brookline Department of Public Health will be holding workshops for all Brookline food service establishments to review the new changes to the Massachusetts Food Code. All workshops will be held January 28 in the Denny Room on the Lower Level of the Health Department building. The workshop will be repeated 3 times during the day: 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. Space is limited! Food Establishments planning to attend MUST call and reserve a seat at one of the above noted times. Please call 617-730-2306 to make your reservation. Establishment Management is recommended to be the attendee for the workshop.
Highlights of the Food Code changes include: New Food Safety Definitions, New Terminology and
Inspection Forms and Protocols will be used, New Temperature Requirements for Cooking and Holding Specific Foods for Food Safety, Specific Date Marking Requirements for Certain Foods, New Reporting Requirements for Employees Reporting Illness and Cleaning Procedures and Specific Requirements for the Designated Person in Charge (PIC), as well as other items.
On September 12, 2018, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health amended 105 CMR 590.00: State Sanitary Code Chapter X: Minimum Sanitation Standards for Food Establishments to include sections of the 2013 FDA Food Code with amendments made by FDA in 2015. The amendments were published in the Massachusetts Register on October 5, 2018 and became effective upon publication.
