No Jail Time for BC Football Player Who Beat Homeless Man Unconscious

Craig "C.J." Parsons was sentenced to five years of probation.

Craig “C.J.” Parsons, a Newton resident and former Boston College football player, avoided jail time after he admitted to beating a homeless man unconscious in Allston earlier this year.

NECN reported Parsons was sentenced to five years of probation. Authorities said he and Anthony Varrichione of Medway, Mass., a former Marist College football player, beat the 50-year-old homeless man on Jan. 26. Varrichione has a court appearance next month, according to NECN.

Parsons, a tight end, was suspended from the BC football squad following his arrest. In 2013, he had three receiving touchdowns.
