No Licence But Plenty Of Ammo: Brookline Police Logs
One man gets pulled over for running a red light, but police find more than that.

BROOKLINE, MA — Here's a sample of the types of calls the Brookline police responded to the week of Feb. 13 through Feb. 15 taken from the public log and the Brookline police blog, meant to give residents an idea of what people report to the police and what Brookline police respond to. Note that just because someone reports an issue to the police isn't necessarily the way it actually happened. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Arrested, No Licence, But plenty of ammo: Just after 2:20 a.m. a police officer saw a car run a red light on Boylston Street. When the officer pulled over the car they found that the driver had no licence, so they arrested 21-year-old Elias Woods, of Ashland Street in Brockton and charged him with being Not Duly Licensed. While inventorying the car, police found a small gray safe with an ammunition box with 36 rounds of .380 Auto FMJ rounds inside it. The safe also had various mail letters (with at least one addressed to someone in Roxbury), empty jewelry boxes and miscellaneous SIM cards and Micro SD cards. Police also charged Woods with Unlawful possession of ammunition and gave him a citation for running the light.

When the employee confronted him about this he ran away leaving all the stuff - even what he had paid for.

Attempted: On Thursday afternoon, someone called to report someone attempted to break into a home on University Avenue. The woman told police she heard her door bell ring, which prompted her to look out the front window. Then the woman heard what was described as a "squeaking noise," which appeared to be coming from her door, located inside a locked foyer. She soon realized that the noise had emanated from the side of her door to the door knob. She saw what she believed to be a credit card, being pushed in and out, next to the doorknob. Frightened, she yelled at whoever was behind the door. Upon receiving no response, she yelled again; asking this person to identify themselves. The person outside the door replied they were a mailman. The woman then unlocked the door looked out and saw a man running to a bike toward Beacon Street.
