• District can't afford six-figure cost to fix Driscoll's hot playground, Wong says (brookline.news) — Families at Brookline's Driscoll School are still waiting for a fix to the dangerously hot rooftop playground, as Superintendent Bella Wong says a proper shade structure could cost up to $330,000 the district can't currently afford. Officials are weighing a future capital request while relying on workarounds like sprinklers and limiting rooftop use to cooler days, even after voters recently approved an override.
