Rubin's in Brookline May Not Be Closed for Good: Reports

The building was sold to developer David Danesh, who reports say has opened negotiations with potential operators for the deli.

BROOKLINE, MA – Brookline eatery Rubin's Koser Restaurant & Catering closed its doors Friday after nearly nine decades in business, but that may not be the end of the Harvard Street mainstay.

Website bldup.com reports that the building was sold to The Danesh Group for $1.718 million last Tuesday, after Rubin's owner Allen Gellerman refused offers from other developers who intended to turn the site into condos.

Developer David Danesh told the Boston Globe on Saturday that he grew up eating sandwiches from Rubin's and intends to keep the restaurant in business.
