Shake Shack Opens in Chestnut Hill [PHOTOS]

It's finally here. Shake Shack has opened in Chestnut Hill.
The popular burger and frozen custard chain opened its doors at 49 Boylston St. today at 11 a.m. Greeted by a long line of eager customers, the restaurant was packed within a few short minutes.

According to the press release, the Chestnut Hill Shake Shack has been constructed with a number of recycled and sustainable materials. The restaurant's walls are made of reclaimed wood from an old paper mill in Holyoke, MA, tabletops are sourced from reclaimed bowling alley lanes and the tile floors are made up of recycled content.
WiFi is also be available at the Chestnut Hill location.

Shake Shack, part of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, opened its first New York City location in 2001 as a Madison Square Park hot dog cart. It morphed into a permanent location in the same spot three years later and has now grown to locations in six states, the Middle East and Turkey. A London location will be opening later this year.
In addition to the Shake Shack staples, the Chestnut Hill menu features a few special concretes (the restaurant's frozen custards with mix-ins) designed specifically for the Boston-area location, the press release said. These items include Revere's Tracks (vanilla frozen custard, cheesecake blondie, peanut butter sauce and chocolate sprinkles) and the Lobstah Shell (vanilla frozen custard, lobster tail pastry shell from Boston’s North End, strawberry purée and ricotta cream).

Shake Shack has taken over the former Rugged Bear space and joins a slew of new retail shops and restaurants at The Street, which recently .
In addition to Shake Shack, The Street is also welcoming a new Sports Club/LA, Pinkberry, Bernard's, , lululemon, City Sports, Polarn O. Pyret and a Showcase Super Lux theatre.
The new shops and restaurants are opening gradually, . More new spaces are expected to open later this month and the new Showcase Super Lux theatre will likely open in May, officials say.
