Shoplifting, Larceny And A Hit And Run: Arlington Police Logs

This is a sample of the types of calls the police responded to this week.

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington Police release a public log of the types of calls they receive and events they log each day, detailing the time the call was logged and the manner of the call and the street name. The information below comes from that log. Be advised that just because someone called to report something to police doesn't mean that's what police found when they responded.

Monday, Aug. 7

Vandals: Police wrote up a report on an incident where someone was accused of maliciously damaging property worth more than $250.

Hit and Run: There was a hit and run reported just outside of the Dunkin Donuts on Mass Ave around 9:02 a.m.

Pedestrian hit: There was a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car on Mass Ave just after noon.

Hazmat: A Hazmat leak was reported just before 2 p.m on Appleton Street.

Tuesday, Aug. 8

Careful with your information: Someone reported an ID theft fraud on Newton Road.

Don't drive on a suspended licence: Police pulled over a car on Arizona Road, then issued a citation for the driver for driving on a suspended licence.

That's odd: Someone reported something suspicious on Appleton Road just after 10 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 9

Car break in: A Melrose Street resident called to report someone broke into their car overnight.

Stolen: Someone reported a larceny from a building on Mill Street around 10: 40 p.m.

Dead: Someone reported a dead animal on Verner Road around 2 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 10

Larceny: Just before 2 a.m. someone reported a larceny of something worth more than $250 on Memorial Way.

Arrest: Police arrested someone on a warrant a "Fugitive from justice," on Hillside Avenue.

Larceny: Someone stole something worth more than $250 just after 4 p.m. on Tufts Street.

Shoplifter: Someone shoplifted by concealing something at a business on Mass Ave.
