Alice Mutter of Chestnut Hill Named to Dean's List at St. Mary's College of Maryland 

Alice Mutter, a resident of Chestnut Hill, MA, was awarded Dean's List honors for academic achievement during the spring 2012 semester at St. Mary's College of Maryland (SMCM).

Dean's List honors are awarded to full-time students at SMCM who earn a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or better on 12 or more graded credits.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.

Local Resident Named to Dean's List at Cornell University

The following local residents have been named to the Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences' Dean's List for Spring Semester 2012:

The College of Arts and Sciences is Cornell University's largest undergraduate college. It provides a high-quality liberal arts education to its own students, and its courses are also accessible to all other students at Cornell. The college's faculty includes national and international leaders in their respective disciplines.

David Roper of Brookline Named to University of Kansas Spring 2012 Honor Roll

More than 4,200 undergraduate students at the University of Kansas earned honor roll distinction for the fall 2011 semester, including David Roper, of Brookline. Roper is a graduate of Lansing High School and is a senior in global and international studies. He was named to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences 2012 Spring Honor Roll.

The honor roll comprises undergraduates who meet requirements in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and in the schools of allied health; architecture, design and planning; business; education; engineering; journalism; music; nursing; pharmacy; and social welfare.

Honor roll criteria vary among the university's academic units. Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade-point average and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered for the honor roll.

Local Students Named to Dean's List at Washington University in St. Louis

The following students were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.

  • Brendan Grove of Brookline, MA (02446), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Grove is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
  • Arielle Klagsbrun of Brookline, MA (02446), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Klagsbrun graduated May 18 from the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Benjamin Roth of Brookline, MA (02445), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Roth graduated May 18 from the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Corey Stone of Brookline, MA (02445), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Stone graduated May 18 from the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Yael Toren of Brookline, MA (02446), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Toren is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Samuel Leffell of Chestnut Hill, MA (02467), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Leffell is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.
  • Sarah Plovnick of Chestnut Hill, MA (02467), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Plovnick is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Andrew Ridker of Chestnut Hill, MA (02467), was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Ridker is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the Olin Business School, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Architecture, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Art, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.

Rachel Guglietti Named to Dean's List at Villanova University

Rachel Guglietti, from Brookline, Mass., was named to the Dean's List at Villanova University for the spring 2012 semester. Guglietti is studying Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Villanova University Dean's List recipients are honored by their college's respective dean. To qualify, one must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5.The College of Nursing requires students to earn at least a 3.5 for the academic year.

Rachael Rabinovitz Among DePaul University's 2012 Graduating Class

DePaul University announced that Rachael Rabinovitz of Brookline graduated from DePaul University in Chicago this summer. It was DePaul's 113th commencement.
